Alanya Lighthouse

Alo, hello, ahoj! I hope you are doing well. I just got back from holiday in Turkey and have lots of energy and ideas for sketching and my vector illustrations! In my previous post I wrote about hoping to see the Alanya Lighthouse, which I drew as part of an art marathon I participated in a couple of years ago. And guess who stayed near Alanya during the holidays? 🙂

Yes, I had a chance to visit Alanya and see this lighthouse! In real life it is even more beautiful. Of course it made the biggest impression on me, even more than the other sights that were included in our sightseeing tour of Alanya: the old castle, the Red Tower, Cleopatra Beach, the Dim Cave and others. And it is funny, because this lighthouse has no interesting story and was built only recently – in 2009. But some sources claim that it was actually designed and built in France in 1880 and then transported to Turkey 🙂

Yesterday I prepared a new sketch of the Alanya Lighthouse. This time I drew in Procreate, on the iPad. Let me know which version you like better!

Please have a look at some pictures I made in Alanya and you can find more in my Instagram 🙂

Thank you and have a great weekend!
